Privacy policy
The short version: we only collect your email address if you sign up for the newsletter, we count visits without cookies, and we never sell or share your data.
Last updated Oct 23, 2026.
The newsletter
- What we collect: the email address you type into a signup form. Nothing else is asked for.
- Who stores it: our email provider, Kit (kit.com), which sends the BotsDoThat Weekly for us. Kit's own privacy policy covers how it stores and protects that data.
- Double opt-in: after you sign up, Kit emails you a confirmation link. You're not subscribed until you click it, so nobody can sign you up without your say-so.
- Unsubscribe any time: every email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. One click and you're off the list.
- What we use it for: sending the newsletter. Kit tells us basic delivery stats, like how many people opened an issue or clicked a link.
Site analytics
- We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views and see which pages are popular.
- It doesn't use cookies, doesn't track you across other websites, and doesn't give us your name, email or any other personal details. That's why there's no cookie banner.
Sponsors who pay us
If you buy a sponsor spot, Stripe handles the payment. We never see your full card number. We receive your name, email, billing details Stripe asks for, and what you type at checkout (your website, ad text and start month), and we use them only to run your spot and send receipts. Stripe's privacy policy covers how it handles payment data.
What we never do
- We never sell, rent or share your email address or data.
- We don't run ad-tracking pixels.
- Sponsors never get reader emails. If a sponsor's link is on a page, clicking it takes you to their site, and their privacy policy applies there.
Links to other sites
Our guides link to tools, posts and articles on other sites. Those sites have their own privacy policies.
