Build your own bot

Bot blueprints

Each blueprint is a ready-made bot: what it watches, when it runs, which tool to use, the exact words to paste, and how to keep it safe. No coding.

How to set up any bot, in 5 plain steps

  1. Pick one boring job

Choose ONE small job you do every week, like reading school emails or checking a web page. Narrow jobs work; “run my life” doesn't. People who kept using agents say the narrow, boring ones are the ones that stuck.

  2. Pick your tool

Use what you already have. Gmail and Google Calendar → Gemini Spark. Want to text your bot → Meta Muse or Instinct. Want routines on a schedule → Grok Bot, Claude Cowork scheduled tasks or ChatGPT dots. Prefer no AI chat at all → Zapier or Make. No agent yet? Paste the instructions into ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or Grok each time; that works too, just not on autopilot.

  3. Paste the instructions and fill in the [brackets]

Open a new chat in the tool. Copy the blueprint's instructions, paste them, and replace everything in [square brackets] with your details. If the tool asks to connect your email or calendar, say yes only to the apps the blueprint lists.

  4. Say “Run this once now and show me the result”

Don't schedule anything yet. Watch the first run, compare it with your real inbox or page, and tell it what to fix in plain words (“ignore emails from the PTA”, “shorter”).

  5. Then say “Do this every [day/time]” and lock it down

Once the result looks right, ask it to repeat on a schedule. Keep it read-only or approval-only: it may read and draft, but it must ask you before it sends, buys, books or deletes. Check the first week of results.

Words you'll see (glossary)
Agent
An AI that can take steps for you: open websites, read your email, fill forms. A chatbot only talks.
Connector / connected app
Permission for the agent to use one of your apps, like Gmail or Calendar. You can turn it off any time.
Routine / schedule / scheduled task
A job the bot repeats on its own, like every Sunday at 6pm.
Skill
Saved instructions the bot reuses, so you don't repeat yourself.
Read-only
It can look, but not change, send, buy or delete anything. Always start here.
Approval
The bot stops and asks you before doing something important.
